We all know that the mission of CPWN is to provide opportunities for personal and professional growth for its members through networking events. Did you also know that CPWN takes very seriously, its commitment to community? This desire to give something back to those in need was the driving force behind the development of the Bridge to Success program.

Bridge to Success was formed several years ago as a way to assist women seeking to re-enter the workforce, but who were hindered by some difficult challenges. Open Doors Career Center, the organization administering the program, determines which women will be selected to receive Bridge to Success benefits. Primarily, they are women who have needs that are not funded by traditional sources.

In the past, Bridge to Success has helped women with such needs as transportation, uniforms, and tuition assistance. Open Doors described the following situation where Bridge to Success was able to help:

The client was a highly motivated single mother of 5 children who came to Open Doors after leaving a violent relationship. She was in the process of obtaining her license in real estate appraisals, but was having trouble completing the classes due to the upheaval in her personal life. She was a very dedicated person who was determined to succeed. Open Doors helped with counseling and tuition assistance. She has gained full-time employment and has moved out of the domestic violence safe -house and into her own apartment.

A portion of the proceeds from this year's fashion show will go directly to the Bridge to Success program. Donations to Bridge to Success will be accepted at the fashion show and at every monthly CPWN meeting. With a $20 donation, you will receive a “bridge” pin symbolizing your support of this worthwhile and very necessary program.
